Il a ete etabli lors d'une serie d'etudes des papyrus arameens du 5eme siecle av. J.-C. provenant d'Elephantine que le calendrier utilise dans ces documents parallelement au calendrier civil egyptien n'etait pas juif, ainsi que certains le croyaient, mais babylonien.
