Abstract

The ability of four motivators to explain adult use of the public library is studied. Motivators and specific library uses were derived from four major life interests : homme and family life, vocational growth, religion, and politic. A composite use variable was also structured that could successfully represent all four specific uses. General use measurements were number of library visits during a three-month period, and having a library card.
