This paper aims to producing an argument which allows an evolutive understanding of the mutual and parallel constitution of subjective experience and the world; i.e., how experience appears as a psychological feature, at the same time that psychological processes permit the construction of an objective world. The two views on the meaning-making processes developed by Saussure and Peirce are instrumental for developing two alternative narrative arguments about the history of Psychology, which have different implications for current directions in psychological reaserach.
