Abstract

ZusammenfassungDie Republik Österreich ist ein Bundesstaat mit neun Bundesländern und 8,3 Mio. Einwohnerinnen. Die Österreichische Gesellschaft ist eine alternde Ge-sellschaft. Der Anteil der Kinder bis 14 Jahre an der bis 64-jährigen Bevölke-rung ist rückläufig – von 38 % (1967) auf 22,9 % (2007), während der Anteil der 65-Jährigen und Älteren von 21,7 % auf 25,2 % zunimmt (vgl. Statistik Austria 2009).
