El discurso de la globalización y la nueva desigualdad regional

Abstract

The article tries to formulate a state of the question of the recent changes that have taken place in the form of reprsenting the concept of region in the current social sciences. This revision is made looking for the changes that the institutional universe and the teoretical conventions have suffered, conventions that originate new forms of thinking the territory in postkeynesian times, or directly antikeynesians times. Thus the discourse of the globalization has left a narrow and subordinate frame in order to think the regional problem. The substitution of the paradigm of cooperation -and the reduction of the regional inequalities- for the open competition regions produce a difficult situation in order to take initiatives and active policies in the local envinorement, thererfore the only regional possible thouht is the pure adaptation to world market. For that reason the social science have in the study of the territory a space to recover in the reconstruction of the postneloiberals public policies.
