Anyone interested in medical history will enjoy this facsimile reproduction of the 1899 edition of the life and times of Thomas Wakley. Most physicians will recognize Wakley as the founder of theLancet, but this biography expands on the life of a man who had a major impact on the practice of medicine in the 19th century not only through medical journalism but through his contributions as a parliamentarian and humanitarian.
