This article presents a project aiming to develop the information search process and information literacy in a distance learning course. It has been a project characterized by cooperation and dialogue between librarians and educators trying to involve students as well. The project started in studying the research field asking what kind of work is needed to reach progress in information literacy. Progress was reached technically, educationally and in teamwork, not only connected to the course involved in the project but also in terms of side-effects for the future and the institution on the whole. New questions are raised among which the question of a new approach to the educational model used in the information search process is one. Another is connected to the need for research and an intensified discussion about a concrete information selection tool.
