The Hussie Miers site, 41W327, is the southernmost example of Plains Early Biographic style rock arl yet recorded in Texas. Five episodes in a Plains warrior’s combat autobiography show a protagonist sequentially defeating two Indian opponents and three bluecoats. The soldiers’ Prussian-style helmets suggest this pictograph was painted after 1871. Events from the massacre at Howard’s Well or the battle of South Kickapoo Springs may be depicted. Although similar to other historic rock arl sites in the region in pigment and setting, the Bussie Miers site is unparalleled for grace and symmetry.
