Culture can be understood as a phenomenon of human creation that keeps strong relations with the imaginary, with ideals and with the different forms of expression of feelings and emotions, among which art and literature stand out. This article approaches in particular the latter aspect. Here, it is claimed that the access to cultural assets is one of the main tools for human transformation and approximation among people, permitting the acknowledgement of different as something positive, a fundamental component for the construction of equality in diversity.Digital culture, that leans on new communication technologies, potentiates the transmission of knowledge, impacting mainly the speed at which new information circulate, and may be one of the tools for cultural approximation and change. However, that higher dissemination of cultural assets demands new cultural policies that focus on the infrastructure -spaces and equipment -that permit the social agents to make their ideas operational. It is highlighted that, more than creating new spaces, it is necessary to care for those already existing, and the public authorities are to take responsibility for the incentives, but not the direct management of cultural actions.
