Abstract

The restaging on Antenne 2 of the famous Milgram obedience experiment as a reality television show (Zone Xtreme) reveals how an organizational system can encourage individuals to torture one another to death using only scientific and/or pedagogical arguments. We describe the mechanisms that keep somebody from identifying the different stages of psychological violence and suffering that can occur within some organizations.
