The scientific approach in sciences of man and society is particularly to select and analyze information to understand the social and human modes of functioning. Computerization of society and techniques, at the same time making considerable data and tools necessary to analyze them available, has put researchers in social sciences in a similar situation: they must master the technical tool - observation of data, methodologies and software - and move from the scientific field where numerical and graphical results are to the field of social sciences that give them meaning. The computerization of society generalizes the use of the systematic measure seen by Hayek as “the source of the worst aberrations and absurdities produced by scientism in social sciences”. ICT have gradually transformed social sciences into a social technology in the sense of natural sciences. Controlled Vocabulary Terms
