Moves towards contextualizing local repossession amidst broader struggles against global dispossession do not represent a rejection of the strategy of occupying and culturally recoding particular public spaces. Reflecting on this global spread of Occupy Wall Street (OWS) activism or Occupy activism, it is possible, therefore, to trace ties between what can usefully be labeled the (1) target space, (2) everywhere space, (3) time-space (4) Shared Space, (5) Teaching Space, and (6) Affect Space, and (7) Utopian Space of the movement. The chapter explores what contexts, cultural discourses, and power relations, and thus what space-spanning geographies of resistance a worldly cultural geography of Occupy activism might encompass. A worldly cultural geography can play a critical role in enabling this democratic dialectic, helping to understand why the symbolic appeal of targeting Wall Street helped Occupy activism to take place around the world.
