Abstract When we talk about sport, we must consider all the social agents that affect any physical activity, whether they are sports technicians, peers or parents. Moreover, if we talk about sports in children, these social actors take on a special importance in the sports activity. In this regard, this article shows the performance and behavior with parents in their children's sporting event. Understanding parents’ approach on competition and anything related to children’s sport will be essential to determine if there is an educational and recreational sport to improve children’s integral development. Specifically, we will see that an increasing interest in competition by parents is a fixed value in most of the sports studied and how parents attach great importance to their children excelling and participating in competitive sports. Therefore, it would be essential to see whether the competitive work involving children is well oriented, and that from which we must promote programs or activities which enable the performance of parents and other stakeholders in sport does not spoil the sport of children, promoting sporting values so desirable in today's society.
