The aim of the article is to present the specificity of museums and interactive exhibitions and show differences between these institutions and traditional museums. These exhibitions are aimed at the spectator (they are to tell the history in an interesting and absorbing way), they have an influence on different senses of the man and they are exhibitions, in which the spectator is an active, involved, experiencing visitor. In the second part of the article the results of the survey research are presented. The research was conducted among visitors of interactive Polish museums and exhibitions. The aim of the research was analysing the popularity and attractiveness of interactive museums and exhibitions in Poland, among respondents in the light of changing social expectations of museum institutions. The visited exhibitions appealed almost for all visitors, and the most popular are: the Warsaw Uprising Museum, the Oskar Schindler’s Factory Emalia and the exhibition in the Basements of the Market Square in Craco. The conducted examinations and their results allow to state that exhibitions of this type in Poland are desired and have great prospects for the development.
