Flavius Josephus since he published his writings, never fallen like so many author of antiquity oblivion. The Testimonia Veterum, the Heinz Schreckenberg has so completely collected with great care, and the many manuscripts and translations of ancient and medieval times indicated in his book, give them an eloquent testimony. Already Eusebius Josephus in his Ecclesiastical History honorably mentioned, he calls him the most famous man among his countrymen also among the Romans, who was honored by a statue in Rome, and whose works of inclusion in the library were deemed worthy. Qumran had many linguistic and exegetical problems; the Jewish historian but wrote a clear Greek without many difficulties. And yet can wonder whether we really have detected what Josephus gave his contemporaries to understand its addressee. The author explains with some examples, how much is to be done in this regard yet. Keywords: Flavius Josephus; Heinz Schreckenberg; Romans; Qumran
