Ethno-education, as a public policy and as a political project of ethnic movements, has been facing a complex series of tensions. These tensions force the movements to redefine their meanings and roles in the affirmation of cultural rights of ethnic groups in Colombia. The purpose of this work is to present some of these tensions, taking into account the genesis of ethno-education itself, as well as its most recent normative and political developments.
