Abstract

ABSTRACT In spite of the important role recognized to the territorial aspects and the own regional environment in the technological innovation, the little participation demostrated by the insular firms in activities of R&D, has decreased the effectiveness of the Canary System of Innovation to turn the results of the scientific and technological investigations into new opportunities of businesses. Aspects such as the search of resources to finance the innovation or the little availability of qualified staff in the market, are shown, among others, like barriers to the investigation and enterprise innovation in the Archipelago, indicating, explicitly, the strategies to be followed by the institutional people in charge to improve the Canary System of Innovation.
