Following the Introduciton (Part I) this book is divided into four main parts: Part II describes and compares the different land-use/transport models and discusses their general strengths and weaknesses, Part III contains a comparative analysis of the results of running the models on the many different policy tests, Part IV provides a general summary of model performance and the effects of transport and land-use policies, and Part V contains appendices and references. Part II opens with very brief overall descriptions of each model included in the ISGLUTI study and continues with a typology of land-use/transport models and a general classification of the ISGLUTI models in terms of their attributes. Successive chapters then provide a comparative description of how the different models represent land-use and allocation of development; transport and travel; the two-way linkages between land-use and transport; their calibration and validation, data and computer requirements, and output; and, finally, their application to policy evaluation and actual operational experience.
