En este artículo se revisan las principales características del distrito industrial y se cuestiona la existencia de un modelo estático y único, ante la diversidad de realidades socioterritoriales. Con base en antecedentes históricos y las características más recientes de la organización territorial de Tlaxcala se analizan las posibilidades de conformación de un distrito industrial textil mexicano. El trabajo se apoya principalmente en la realización de encuestas y entrevistas a empresarios de la entidad. This article examines the main characteristics of the industrial district. It also questions the existence of a unique and static model with regard to the diversity of socio-territorial realities. Based on the historical background and on the most recent characteristics of industrial organization in Tlaxcala, the possibilities of structuring an industrial district of Mexican textiles are analyzed. This work is mainly founded on polls and interviews carried out to local enterpreneurs
