In this study, the motivation of technical staff in Data Processing Department of a state university has been analyzed through content analysis method. It is aimed to find out determining factors on the motivation of technical staff in Data Processing Departments, in charge of software design, network and hardware maintenance and featuring field engineering. Moreover, it is intended to provide supporting points and considerations to the academic administration within the frame of employee satisfaction and productivity. This research is accustomed on the basis of the possible difference between needs-expectations of the employees in field engineering and the employees in social domain. Accordingly, interview technic has been adopted for technical staff in Data Processing Department of a state university and the methodology of employee motivation has been integrated according to the literature review within the semi-structured interview method. Through the content analysis method, outcomes have been designated and arranged according to the themes of “profession, employee fee and social security, social environment, administrator profile”.
