Abstract

The term "(Proto-)Italie" will be used here to refer to the later stages of the proeolanguage ancestral to Latin (with Faliscan) and the dialects of the Oseo-Umbrian group (Oscan, Umbrian.Marrocinian, Paelignian.Vestinian.etc.).We are not yet in a position to draw meaningful conclusions about such Iealie languages as Venetie, Sicel or South Picene.
