Abstract

Bärbel Inhelder wurde am 15. April 1913 in St. Gallen/Sch weiz geboren. Sie war das einzige Kind von Alfred Inhelder (1870–1958), Professor für Biologie, Geologie und Geographie des sankt-gallischen Lehrerseminars in Rorschach und Elsa Inhelder, geborene Spannagel, aus Berlin stammend. In ihrer Autobiographie beschreibt Bärbel Inhelder ihre Mutter als „temperamentvoll, sogar brillant in guten Perioden, die, lei-der, mit Depressionen regelmässig abwech selten“ (Inhelder, 1992a, S. 98).
