Abstract

This evaluation focused on learning activities that participants from Sri Lanka attended in FY01 and 02. It was based on several sources and types of information, including: participant questionnaires, participant focus group discussions, interviews with key informants among the learning activity participants, WBI task managers and Bank staff working in operations in Sri Lanka, and relevant documents. The evaluation was undertaken to answer the following key questions: (a) What is the effectiveness and impact of WBI learning activities in Sri Lanka? (b) What is the relevance of WBI learning activities to Sri Lanka's needs? (c) What is the contribution of WBI learning programs/activities to building in-country capacity in Sri Lanka? and (d) How does this contribution compare to those of others providing the same services?
