Abstract

In the section on Sources and Backgrounds, the editors include Olson's translation of MO 20833-92 and 20953-21060, which contain the closest parallels to Chaucer's portrait of the Monk (pp. 267-69 and n.), and Gower's tale of Florent (CA 1.1396-1871), with lexical notes, as an analogue of WBT (pp. 359-69).
