Abstract

A revolution is occurring in knowledge of the biological foundations of human behavior. The social work profession has virtually ignored this fund of knowledge, to the possible detriment of practice. This article presents an argument for the inclusion of such knowledge in the pedagogy and practice of clinical social work. It indicates some of the problems in doing so and briefly illustrates how this knowledge might be used in clinical social work practice.
