La situación de las mujeres en el mercado de trabajo español: desajustes y retos

Abstract

espanolLos cambios experimentados por el mercado de trabajo espanol en los ultimos quince anos se deben en gran medida a la incorporacion de la mujer a la actividad remunerada. De la totalidad del empleo creado, mas de la mitad de los puestos de trabajo han sido ocupados por mujeres. Sin embargo, son todavia muchas las diferencias que se aprecian cuando se compara su situacion con los hombres. No obstante, las diferencias en la tasa de participacion de hombres y mujeres se ha reducido en algo mas de veinte puntos porcentuales y las tasas de empleo y paro tambien se han aproximado. Ahora bien, cuando se analizan algunas caracteristicas personales como el nivel de estudios, la edad y la situacion familiar, y caracteristicas laborales como el sector de actividad, el tipo de ocupacion, contratos y jornada laboral, asi como los ingresos salariales, se aprecia que la situacion de desigualdad de las mujeres en el mercado de trabajo espanol continua y que todavia son muchos los retos pendientes EnglishOne of the most important changes experienced by the Spanish labour market was the integration of women in employment during the last fifteen years. More than fifty percent of new total employment has been occupied by women; nevertheless, there are still many differences when their situation in the labour market is compared with men?s. Male and female participation rates have converged somehow and the differences have been reduce in more than twenty percentage points, as well as unemployment and employment rates have also brought near. However, women inequality in the Spanish labour market arises when personal and labour characteristics (level of studies, age, familiar situation, activity sector, type of occupation, contracts, working time and salaries) are analysed and the challenges to face are many. The objective of this paper is to show these differences and to point out the necessity to keep on working in equality plans.
