Fashion and Cultural Textiles Consumer Perception and Purchasing Behavior Cultural and Historical Studies

Abstract

A simple means of classifying hem lengths in women's daywear is presented and used to generate data from Voguemagazine for the forty-five-year period from 1946 to 1990. Contrary to expectations, on subjecting these data to analysis, regular and recurring fashion cycles are not evident.
