Abstract

Professional Commitment and Militant Loyalties. Labour Lawyers and the Defence of Employees Laurent Willemez Using an ethnographical method about labour lawyers who are specialised in defending employees, this paper's aim is to show how such attorneys, which can be seen as cause lawyers, articulate professional and political commitment. Such mixing is based on an ethic of loyalty : loyalty towards ancient political and social beliefs in a one hand, fidelity towards traditional and open conception of their profession.
