Empirical research is necessary to move beyond the limitations of abstract discussion regarding the relationship between formation and transformation. Phenomena can be seen more clearly in context as implicit meaning in life is made explicit in stories. This article, via a biographical case study of a Mennonite woman's religious journey, illumines the interplay between formation and transformation as well as how the interplay is embodied in the very lives of people. By expanding on lived experience, it is clear that formation and transformation have much in common and cannot be separated. These insights demonstrate the significance of shared praxis.
