Abstract

This paper derives and tests those hypotheses concerning the tendency of groups to maintain a consistent propensity for risk taking over multiple decisions. Results obtained via a management simulation exercise suggest that there may be limits on the generality of the polarization concept. Specifically, polarization may only be applicable to decisions that do not involve direct feedback.
