Abstract

An adapted version of Palmore's Facts on Aging Quiz (1977) was administered to university students between 1983 and 1985. Some gender differences in beliefs about aging were obtained. Overall, student participants' reactions were mixed. Some saw the elderly as part of society, intelligent, physically mobile, sexually active, and competent workers. Others viewed the elderly as unhappy with retirement, financially dependent on their children, and bored.
