On the Group Personality Projective Test (Cassel & Kahn, 1961) for each of 90 drawings of stick figures S chooses one among five options. The test is designed to assess amount of anxiety-producing tension and the levels of certain psychological needs present for Ss at the time of testing (Cassel & Kahn, 1961 ) . Although Cassel and Kahn ( 1961 ) do not give the duration of periods between the two administrations for their reliability smdies, their test-retest rs for scores were generally above .50 for their unselected normal high-school students, USAF Pre-flight Cadets, USAF Women Basic Trainees, neuropsychiatric patients, and youth in correctional institutions. To obtain current estimares of test-retest reliability, the several scales were administered twice, 4 wk. apart, to 51 teacher-education students. There were 36 females and 15 males whose ages ranged from 19 to 42 yr. Using the t test, no statistically significant sex differences were found. For the group as a whole Pearsonian rs for the scales were as follows: Tension, .69; Nurturance, .52; Withdrawal, .74; Neuroticism, .45; Affiliation, .5O; Succorance, .26; and Total, ,157. With the exception of Succorance ( p < .05) all correlations were significant ( p < .01). Means and standard deviations of raw scores for the scales on the first administration are as follows: Tension ( M = 29.46, SD = 13.39). Nurrurance ( M = 9.60, SD = 2.70), Withdrawal ( M = 13.08, SD = 3.26). Neuroticism ( M = 18.69, SD = 3.80), Affiliation ( M = 16.63, SD = 3.88), Succorance ( M = 8.42, SD = 3.04), and Total ( M = 52.88, SD = 11.24). For the second administration these values are: Tension (M = 25.44, SD = 14.13), Nurturance ( M = 9.98, SD = 2.82). Withdrawal ( M = 13.85, SD = 4.03), Neuroticism (M = 18.44, SD = 4.13), Affiliation ( M = 16.81, SD = 4.58), Succorance ( M = 7.31, SD = 2.62), and Total ( M = 49.31, SD = 11.58). Means and standard deviations of raw scores for unselected normal individuals of both sexes as found in Cassel and Kahn (1961) are as follows: Tension ( M = 23.2, SD = 9.0), Nurturance ( M = 9.6, SD = 2.0). Withdrawal ( M = 11.4, SD = 1.8), Neuroticism (M = 18.1, SD = 4.3), Affiliation ( M = 22.4). SD = 4.4), Succorance ( M = 8.2, SD = 3.7) , and Total ( M = 46.0, SD = 15.4). The consistency of the estimates of test-retest reliability encourages further research with this unobtrusive measure of personality. Mean values may help in making comparisons.
