Using a transportation system with a dense network of circular streets, this paper provides complete solutions to two urban models with a discrete suburban employment center as well as a central business district. In many cases, particularly when suburban workers have higher incomes than city workers, the suburban residential zone in these models takes the shape of a heart. These models reveal the impact of a new suburban worksite on a metropolitan housing market and show how changes in suburban income alter an urban area's spatial structure.
