Abstract

This paper gives procedures and tables for evaluating the operating characteristic curves and associated measures of dependent mixed acceptance sampling plans for the case of single specification limit and known standard deviation, assuming a normal distribution. Joint probabilities necessary for evaluating these measures are derived and methods to facilitate their computation are provided. A useful generalized dependent plan is also presented, using two attributes acceptance numbers rather than one. Tables of joint probabilities necessary for evaluation of mixed plans are presented for first sample sizes of 4, 5, 8, and 10, acceptance numbers of 0, 1, and 2 and various percentages defective.
