This article describes this researcher's development and validation of a new attitudinal scale to measure Hall'sseminal cross-cultural dimension of High-Low Context communication within a business setting. The article alsopresents some initial empirical findings from the authors’ recent study of Context Communication Values withinthe Norwegian business culture to support the face validity of the scale. The instrument developed and validatedin this study contains a parsimonious five-item measurement and was empirically tested with data collected froma sample of 710 Norwegian middle managers. The psychometric properties of the scale are assessed in terms ofdimensionality, reliability and validity, and the results indicate that the measure constructed to assess High-LowContext in a business setting is psychometrically sound.
