Abstract

This text debates the nature, scope and purpose of dance for young people. The author also offers a rigorous introduction to issues of aesthetic education for those interested in dance. Defending the view that dance is primarily an artistic activity, McFee examines the unique contribution it can make to the emotional and aesthetic development of young people. This book is intended for all student dance teachers and those interested in dance and its place in the curriculum.
