Abstract The aging of population is a common phenomenon in most societies. The aged people live longer and healthier; therefore, they are more willing to participate in both the educational and leisure activities. The conception of “lifelong learning” has increasingly attached great importance to both the formal and non-formal educational institutions. Museum as an important institute of the integrated lifelong learning system should take up the opportunity to develop its elderly audiences by understanding their needs and to propose the exhibitions and activities, to provide them with a satisfied environment to achieve the goals of museum lifelong learning for the elderly.
