Abstract

Abstract The rapidly evolving Chinese process engineering community and its research are described. A multiscale, market‐driven approach is proposed for its future development. In addition to the science and technology, process engineering is broadened to consider the product, sustainability, business and, most importantly, people issues involved. © 2005 American Institute of Chemical Engineers AIChE J, 2005
