Abstract

Using the data from the Social Science Citation Index, the author analyzes the citations of 11 social work journals published from 1981 to 1985 to examine the interdisciplinary relationships between social work and other disciplines. The Journals cite references from 46 disciplines, including social work. Coincidently, 46 disciplines base their references on social work. It was found that social work has not contributed as significantly in public policy areas as it has in micropractice areas.
