LEIFER, A. D.; LEIDERMAN, P. H.; BARNETT, C. R.; and WILLIAMS, J. A. Effects of Mother-Infant Separation on Maternal Attachment Behavior. CHILD DEVELOPMENT, 1972, 43, 1203-1218. Attachment behaviors recorded in time-sampled observations of 3 groups of mothers were compared prior to, and 1 and 4 weeks after, infants' hospital discharge. There were no differences between 2 groups separated by their premature infants' 3-12 week
