Abstract

Discrepant cognitive behaviors and poor activity control among 11-14 Old students meeting difficulties - A systematic survey was conducted among about sixty students experiencing academic failure. This survey tested cognitive behaviors and activity control. The results show a number of discrepancies to be compared with the ones found previously among the « mentally retarded » and various subjects with poor control efficiency in psychomotor tasks. These results are discussed with special consideration of those dealing with the different rates of development in the same cognitive profiles, and with the poor speed and accuracy regalution. This discussion involves the underlying mechanisms and hypothetical determinants.
