Abstract

The goal of this book is to provide help in developing effective education and training programs. It is aimed primarily at instructors, trainers, curriculum/media specialists, supervisors and others involved in job-related training in business, industry, vocational/technical education agencies and institutions. It describes how to develop programs that: are based on clearly stated trainee outcomes; use carefully developed, mediated and packaged learning materials; focus on learning not teaching; ensure that trainees master each task well before going on to the next; are individualised and personalised; can be self-paced, open-entry and open-exit; and evaluate each trainee on his or her performance.
