This contribution presents the Circular letter (Rundbrief) correspondence of the “Secret Committee” of Sigmund Freud. This correspondence reflects a group dynamic process, which in its turn was closely linked to the process of development of the organisation of international psychoanalysis. The geographical location of the homes and the nationalities of the members only partially reflected the international character of psychoanalysis as it was organised at that time. The function of the “Secret Committee” as an unofficial institution of the psychoanalytical movement is represented in a hitherto unpublished Committee letter.
