Common Denominators in Art and Science

Abstract

The practices of art and science have more feature in common than would appear at first sight. A comparative study of artists and scientist themselves, the way in which they work and the impulses that drive them to express themselves in what superficially seem to be very different type of activity, reveal deep structures of similarity. The extent and ignificance of these similarities need further exploration within a wide range of different contexts.
