Two hundred physicians completed the Kogan Attitudes Toward Old People Scale. The results indicated that attitudes towards aging were slightly more negative as the number of years in practice increased. The practicing physicians aged 70 and older had significantly more negative attitudes toward older people than the other age groups. Attitudes toward aging did not differ by percent of patients 65 and older in the physicians' practice nor according to whether or not the physician had ever taken a course on aging.
