This documentary research compiles, synthesizes and prioritizes the most important\naspects involved in the study of communication skills, the most relevant theories,\nauthors, critiques and current trends, in order to set up a conceptual framework suitable\nfor analyzing communication skills in organizations. It begins with theoretical origins of\nthe concept through the influence of disciplines such as psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics and pragmatics, using authors such as Chomsky (1974), Hymes (1971)\nand McClelland (1973), to arrive at an overall vision about contemporary approaches\nwhose contributions open a range of possibilities for the study of communicative\ncompetence in organizations. Once the theoretical review has been accomplished, it is\npossible to conclude that the concept of communicative competence is conceived today\nwith a holistic, integrating vision, far from mechanistic, rigid postures, in order to open\nthe way for a multifactorial and necessarily subjective, or at least flexible, posture that\nacts as a key element in establishing group relations to construct and strengthen the\nsocial fabric.
