Abstract

Eighteen elderly relocators to Israel from western countriesshared the experiences and concerns of their life situationsfollowing relocation. Six components of post-relocation adjustment were identified: the geographic location of self, control and independence, psychosocial integration, goal realization, subjective well-being, and need fulfillment. The resulting Index of Relocation Adjustment (IRA), based upon the six components, was administered to a sample of 223 elderly relocators to Israel.
