SUMMARY The latest archaeo-metallurgic researches in prehistoric sites of the southeastern Iberian Peninsula have shown that copper was reduced in crucibles, smelting technique that causes little slag production in the metallurgic-mining settlements aimed at copper production. The excavations and archaeological prospecting we have carried out in necropolis and settlements from the Bronze Age in the southeastern Iberian Peninsula also confirm the generalization of this technique in this area. In this essay the remains of two crucibles and slag from the necropolis of Valdegalaroza (La Nava, Huelva) and from the settlement of Santa Marta II (Santa Olalla del Cala, Huelva) by means of their analysis under scaning electronic microscope (SEM).
