Using language and its symbolical signification to rule the world has been an invariable practice since the genesis. Analysing person’s names, therefore, should be considered among other things a serious way of recovering social, cultural and religious facts. These facts apparentely lost are duly registered in the untouched fragments of signification within a person’s name. As this paper intends to show, the Onomastic Science, through the sub-areas of Toponimy and Anthroponimy, uses language to rescue causes and facts overlaid during centuries of human existence, and it represents a real cultural recovery of collective memory.
