Abstract

The earthquake and itsimpact are far beyond the daily experiences of people. Because theunpredictability of the earthquake, the feeling of helplessness in the momentand the problems encountered after the earthquake, the losses on the peoplefurther increase. The severity of the earthquake, 17 August and 12 November1999, the size of the region affected by the earthquake, the devastation andlosses it caused, the long-standing aftershocks, the difficulties in the rescueand the problems of the earthquake victims increased the impact of thisdisaster far beyond the effects of similar disasters.
